Memorial Day 2010

For Memorial day this year we decided to go on a little family outing. Jenna wanted to go to a ghost town so we drove out past Apache Junction to this little town called Goldwater (I think) It was a little toasty but we all survived. No one wanted to take a shower and get ready, get all sweaty and have to take another shower again so we all look just lovely! So here are some pics of our adventure.

The old church house.
They still hold church services in it at 11:00 on Sunday. Spencer rang the bell!
Rachel was afraid of the rickety stairs.

Michelle found her long lost uncle!
Shannon and Jenna found a huge bird cage....I think that is what it is.
The girls posing in front of the Arizona Desert.

This is a car from the mine. In front of the train depot. (Which we didn't ride....too expensive)
All in all a fun time. We stopped on the way home and got Little Ceasers pizza and then showered and went to Uncle Keith and Aunt Carol's for FHE.

The big "roll over"!

Brads little red car just met a huge milestone! It turned over 200,000 miles!! Still running strong! Spencer and Brad had to go on a little drive to document this momentous occasion. They didn't get out and do the "Toyota jump" but did take a pic of the odometer. That has been a great little car. Brad is praying it will still be around when he gets home from his mission. Spencer and Brad are like proud parents when they talk about how many miles to the gallon it gets.....ok, I know you want to know too... 38!!

Prom..."Blind Date"

So Shannon went to "Mormon" prom this year. It was very last minute. A guy in our ward Eric (Center Left) needed someone to go with his friend kindof last minute. Shannon being the good sport that she is, borrowed a dress (you may recognize it from Jacki the girl Brad took to prom last year). Anyway, She was an inch or so taller than her date (strike one) he had hat hair (strike two) and he got a little carried away talking about himself (strike three) but Shan made the best of it got a nice dinner and had a fun time anyway.

She had her friend Jessica take some pics of her in the dress so these are from their "photo shoot".

She did however get to know the rest of the guys in the group and even went on a date with MacGiver the guy on the far left. She has had a fun time getting to know him. Glad she was such a good sport!

Birthday time at the Kendalls!

April starts the roller coaster train of birthdays for our family. Rachel starts at the beginning of the month, towards the end is Grandpa Kendall, 2 days later Grandpa Manwaring and two days later Dad.
After a short break comes Mother's day and one week later my birthday and just a few short days later is Michelle's B-day. After Michelle comes Jenna in June and we all can't wait for that since she is driving us NUTS!! This year her birthday falls on Father's day and she is thrilled! Then in July comes Grandma Kendall and Brad. August is Grandma Manwaring and Spetember is Shannon. That isn't even counting all the aunts and uncles. Whew! Good thing they only come once a year!!

Goodbye to an old friend...

Spencer has had this wallet for at least 15 years. He finally gave me the permission this year for his birthday to "try" and find a new one to replace his beloved friend.
Many know that he isn't picky about hardly anything but this one thing he is... He doesn't like his wallet to be big, bulky, thick, and NO tri fold. So off to the store I went in search of something that might come close to his requirements. This is what I came up with. (Three stores later I might add...) and the winner is......
I was pretty sure that he would pick this one (oh, I know him so well!) So he is happily using this wallet and the other is in the trash can. (Thank heavens!)
