Wow! what a day! First off, it has been a LONG wait for this day to finally arrive. She has been so excited. We had to decorate the day before and she was defiantly a particular decorator. She hung balloons from the top of the stair railing and had to have everything just so. We went to the dollar store about a week or so ago to buy the supplies. We had to get a special "birthday girl" hat as seen in the picture above, balloons, crape paper, silly string, plates and cups with balloons and party horns! Her cake request this year was a "race track" so here is my version of what was in the book. I think it turned out better than the book one.
We started the day off opening presents and then her favorite breakfast of pancakes. Then it was about 3 hours of ..." is is time to go to Hamilton pool yet?" FINALLY it was time to go. She has never gone down their big water slides so we bribed her that if she would go down she could get a kids meal after we were done. All it took was one time and she was hooked! When she got down, she shouted "woooh Hoo!" and that was all it took, she spent most of her time on the slides. Meanwhile, Shannon, Spencer and I were having a treading water contest (Michelle joined in after we had been doing it for 10 minutes) but Shannon and I ended up in a tie. We did it for 1 hour! I'm sure we will be sore tomorrow. She kept telling us to call her "the birthday girl". She is so silly! Too bad we all can't be as excited about our own birthdays as little kids are.
Here she is with the candles lit.
We sure love this little girl! She has been a handful from the beginning but she sure is a barrel of fun, she really makes us laugh! We are so glad Heavenly Father sent her to our family! (even though Spencer and I will be using walkers at her high school graduation!) We love you Jen!

Our babies are getting older, but we definitely aren't!!! But seriously, isn't it a joy to have watched them from the very beginning, unable to do anything. To now, at seven, arranging her own party, going down a big slide without help and being excited because SHE DID IT! Isn't Motherhood THE BEST JOB IN ALL THE WORLD???!! sniff...sniff... They grow so quickly...sniff...
Great job on the cake Karen! It looks good. Why didn't you frost it black, like a real race track? Ha ha! Happy birthday to Jenna!!
Well we missed this one. I don't know where I have been lately, I keep missing important things. Abby would have loved to bring a present by for Jenna, but her Mom can't seem to get on the ball. Sorry. Looks and sounds like a fun day. Great cake!
