"Holy Big Book Batman!"

This is just ONE of Brad's books! Yikes!

Good thing Jenna doesn't have to read this monster! I would never survive!

First Day of School

So here are the traditional "first day of School" pictures for 2009!
Too cool for words! (He thinks!)

Brad's first day was the 24th of this month. He is going to Chandler Gilbert Community College. He is taking 15 credit hours, Pre Calc, Biology, English, Institute and Mythology. He has to take the Mythology as a requirement for the scholarship he got for being such a smart boy. He has alot of untapped potential. He sauntered down to the college to take the placement tests and came away placing very high. His counselor suggested he apply for the presidential scholarship so he did (that day was the deadline) and sure enough, about a week later he got a letter saying he got it. So that pays for his credit hours. He just has to pay for books! YIKES! they are stinkin expensive! We did get most of them on Amazon which saved us a bundle!!!! So, I ask myself, what kind of scholarship could he have gotten had he applied himself during high school? "The world will never know!"

There he goes "sniff sniff" first day of college. Alot different than dropping him off for the first day of kindergarten.

Here is Shannon, the lovely Junior who gets her "real" drivers license in 27 days. She will then be the proud driver of the above vehicle and Brad will use the white car till he leaves.

Next comes Michelle (Shelly to her friends) the new freshman!!!

She likes High School and is hoping to be on the Basket Ball team!! Go Shelly!

The Healthy! (finally) 5th Grader

Here she is sporting her "hero of the month" T-shirt she earned from her days in the hospital! She will be a good big sister to Jenna and look out for her to and from school. She has the same teacher this year as Mrs Bunger rolled up with her class. She is excited.

Last but certainly not least the big 1st Grader!

She is SOOOOO excited to finally be in first grade. Her teacher seems like she will be a good fit for her. The teacher dressed up as a pirate for the 'meet the teacher' night and Jenna was sold!

Jenna is 7 !

Wow! what a day! First off, it has been a LONG wait for this day to finally arrive. She has been so excited. We had to decorate the day before and she was defiantly a particular decorator. She hung balloons from the top of the stair railing and had to have everything just so. We went to the dollar store about a week or so ago to buy the supplies. We had to get a special "birthday girl" hat as seen in the picture above, balloons, crape paper, silly string, plates and cups with balloons and party horns! Her cake request this year was a "race track" so here is my version of what was in the book. I think it turned out better than the book one.

We started the day off opening presents and then her favorite breakfast of pancakes. Then it was about 3 hours of ..." is is time to go to Hamilton pool yet?" FINALLY it was time to go. She has never gone down their big water slides so we bribed her that if she would go down she could get a kids meal after we were done. All it took was one time and she was hooked! When she got down, she shouted "woooh Hoo!" and that was all it took, she spent most of her time on the slides. Meanwhile, Shannon, Spencer and I were having a treading water contest (Michelle joined in after we had been doing it for 10 minutes) but Shannon and I ended up in a tie. We did it for 1 hour! I'm sure we will be sore tomorrow. She kept telling us to call her "the birthday girl". She is so silly! Too bad we all can't be as excited about our own birthdays as little kids are.
Here she is with the candles lit.

We sure love this little girl! She has been a handful from the beginning but she sure is a barrel of fun, she really makes us laugh! We are so glad Heavenly Father sent her to our family! (even though Spencer and I will be using walkers at her high school graduation!) We love you Jen!

Mary Mary quite contrary, how does your garden grow?

Here is our very TALL corn.....
Cucumbers grown at the bottom
Tomatoes
squash and melon

Spencer put shade on them because they were burning up!

And here is some of our produce!! : )

Yummy! so glad we planted one this year!

It finally happened!!!

Rachel has wanted her ears pierced for a number of years now and we told her that on her 10th birthday she could. When she was such a trooper while she was in the hospital in February we told her she could get them done right away...little did we know she would be on cumiden for 4 months after. So FINALLY June 1st was the day.
Here she is before waiting so excitedly : )
Oh no! here it goes.....
ah oh, only one done....NO don't do the other one :(
Kimber came along for support, she was a 1 week veteran.
Although it doesn't look like it here..
Now she is thrilled!

All done! pretty earrings. She tucks her hair behind her ears all the time. What a funny girl.

The gal who pierced her ears, was looking at Kimber's before she did Rachel's and noticed that her earrings were pushed together too tight and it was causing some infection to start so she pulled them open more and put some solution on which made Kimber a bit sad so that made Rachel a little unsure it was kind of funny...but all ended well.
