Olympics....yawn!

Holy cow! I seriously need some sleep!!! It is crazy that the put the stuff you want to watch on from 7 to 11. Jenna and Rachel feel VERY cheated that they have to miss so much. And what a time sucker!!!! I Really REALLY hate sitting thru the commercials too!! We don't have cable nor tvo so we suffer thru. I do like watching but am very glad they only come around every 4 years....oh wait, 2 years, don't forget summer games!! Sheeze!

Hungry boy!

This is a typical site to see at our house many times a day. Here he is ready to go upstairs and watch a little tv as he eats a "snack" Milk in the red cup, water bottle full of water, lots of food on the plate and jello inthe container beneath. sheeze! If we could only train him to bring all his dishes back down!

Giant Carrot

" What in the world?!!" Brad and Rachel went out Sunday to pick a carrot front he garden and came back with this! It had grown so much it hit the bottom (weed guard) and started growing sideways.
ok, ok, so we aren't great farmers.....but at least we are trying! The carrot tasted good which surprised us, we thought it would not be good being so big and such. We have also been harvesting turnips and beets and a few peas. Spencer, Rachel and Jenna are the beet eaters and only Spencer eats the turnips. It's almost time to plant again......

"FINALLY" starting his mission papers!

On the DAY that he could start, Brad was on the computer filling out the papers to get ready for his mission. It is quite amazing how they do it pretty much on line. He filled out all he could and now is waiting for reports back from doctors and such. We need to go get his picture taken and then we wait again till the deadline to turn them in. April 17. I am so thrilled that he is so anxious to join "Gods Army" and serve. He is a great kid. I don't think the girls will miss his teasing but I do know they will miss him. ok.....I think they WILL miss his teasing.

Winter Formal #2

Shannon went with a group of about 20 people to WFHS Winter Formal. She wasn't going to go but then decided to go ahead and ask someone. She asked Lincoln Conway. He is a boy in our stake who used to be in our ward. He is a great kid. Their "day" date was making a movie. They all picked out of a hat a characteristic that they had to have and then made a fishing movie. Shannon's characteristic was that she was a germ-a-phobic. She had to wipe everything down before she would touch it. Lincoln's was that he was a bragger. He bragged about everything. They all had alot of fun. They had dinner at one of the girls homes and then had the dance there too because the school dance environment doesn't even come close to the standards we would want our kids to be around. I was proud of them for making that choice.
Shannon had lots of fun. It is so nice to have good kids for your children to hang around. It makes being good alot easier!
I'm so proud of Shannon, she is really turning into a beautiful Young Woman, INSIDE and OUT!

Rachel the dancer!

Rachel's school has a talent show every year and this year, Rachel wanted to be in it. She and her friend Emily, made up a dance to "The Climb" and they did a great job. They didn't win but I think they did really well. Most of the other dance contestants were enrolled in dance classes. Some of the other acts were a bit hard to sit thru. One girl played her guitar and sang. AHHHH it was painful! In fact, there was a certain little girl sitting next to us (who shall remain nameless but she is very spunky like my Jenna) said to her mom, "That's not singing!" Andrea and I looked at each other and laughed! Out of the mouths of babes.....
Rachel LOVES LOVES LOVES her dance class! It is fun to see your kids so excited about something.

Wisdom teeth extraction!

Here he is just an hour after he had his bottom wisdom teeth removed. (He doesn't have any on top....lucky boy!) And does he come home and sleep? Oh no, straight to the computer to chat with his friends on facebook. He was still a bit loopy. All went really well. He healed up really quickly and Dr Porter did a great job! He did however miss being able to eat "real" food for a few days. Instead of pudding and soup and such, he really wanted a big sandwich.
