Baskeball

Basketball is over for another year. Michelle really enjoyed playing on the Coronado Elm. team. She is hoping to play next year in High school. Their team did pretty good. It always seems they are just starting to work together as a team and then the season is over. She was point guard on her team. sorry for the picture, none of the ones I took really turned out, too blurry.

Crazy Hair Day

A couple of weeks ago it was crazy hair day at school. Here is what the girls came up with!

Here we have Jenna with her lovely tresses pulled into several pony tails and made into messy buns. She graciously removed her had so we could get the full effect.
Next comes the ravishingly beautiful Rachel with a flower topping her beautiful doo. and a ribbon hanging off the side?

Michelle is sporting a rats nest atop of her head.

They are way braver than I, you go girls!!

Our "berry" fun weekend!

On my way home from the temple (the first time I have been in over 2 1/2 months due to Rachel's lovely trauma) I went to Superstition Ranch Market to pick up some produce (because their prices are MUCH cheaper) While I was there, I noticed that they had their strawberries on a SUPER good sale. 4 lb box for $1.50. Well being the bargain hunter I am, I couldn't pass that up so I bought 2 boxes. After thinking about it and having to go back over to that part of town later that day, I decided at that price I needed to get more to make some strawberry jam. I think I got a little carried away because I bought 14 boxes. Brad quickly totaled that up and said, "MOM! did you know you bought 56 lbs of strawberries?!" We got the whole crew involved (for a short time then Brad bailed on us because he had to go order his tux for prom, ya,....likely excuse!) and, Spencer was out doing outside stuff... anyway, needless to say we had strawberries coming out of our ears!! But everyone was a good sport and kept working till we were done. We only suffered one burn (Shannon from the strawberry stuff boiling up onto her) one cut(Rachel because she was being stubborn and not using the strawberry topper thing instead of a knife) and tired aching back and feet (all of us!)

But the end result was great!!!!!! We got 32 pints, 9 quarts and 18 freezer containers of jam. 2 quarts of strawberries to eat and a quart squished up to put on strawberry shortcake. Yum Yum!! I don't know that this will go down as a great memory (at least for a few years yet).

Brad's new image!

New glasses!! His old glasses were quite an old prescription and he needed an update. He wanted some COOL ones so here they are, the sides are gold. He thinks he is pretty stylin!
He is also sporting a new "ride". The red car is giving him problems and he is wanting to take his lawn mowing business to a higher level so we were able to get this little truck and he is so excited! I guess it is more "manly" to drive a truck. (according to him) anyway, we will keep the "red racer" for Shannon who is surprisingly OK with it, "at least it's a car" she says.
Jenna took this picture from inside the house of "our truck" I don't know who is more excited about having a truck, Jenna or Brad.

Spencer is sooooo sad that his truck got totaled. It would have been a great truck for Brad. WAAAA!

Spencer's Projects

Spencer had a week off from work (company wide, no pay, mandatory) so he spent his time doing some projects around the house. One of the projects he worked on (that took most of his time) is a table and 2 chairs I got from our neighbors up the street trash pile. It was very rickety so he took the table apart and re-glued joints as well as the chairs. Then he put putty in some places then sanded and painted them. He wanted a neutral color and he got out voted by Brad, Jenna and I who chose RED!! It looks soooooo great!
Beautiful!!I'm so glad I'm married to someone who can fix things!
Another project he worked on was keeping cats out of our garden. They were using it for a litter box YULK!!He also wanted to get some shade set up for summer for it, so here are the latest pics of our garden.
Look our first summer squash!! yum yum!

Track-star SUPERSTAR!!

Shannon is laughing because Jenna yelled to her "Shannon! run faster, you're loosing!"

Shannon is doing track this year. She missed the pre season conditioning because she was in therapy for her knee. She is doing really well anyway. She runs even though she is in pain sometimes. I'm proud of her for sticking to it.
This is towards the end of the 2 mile run. She is one tough girl! I am so proud of her for finishing the race.

Jenna couldn't wait to get down onto the track and try. After the meet, she ran a lap with her cowboy boots on and then took them off and ran some more.
